Factors associated with breastfeeding initiation time in a Baby-Friendly Hospital

International health authorities recommend skin-to-skin care (SSC) at birth and that breastfeeding should be started as soon possible, within the first hour after birth. This article aimed to review benefits of initiation for mothers newborns, global status initiation, determinants breastfe- eding SSC, interventions improve initiation. The positive effects result from contact between baby mother components found in breast milk. Several factors related family, mother, child, institution affect time breastfeeding. It ensured pregnant women have access accurate effective information about healthcare facilities, communities, different settings, including media. Taking advantage opportunities counsel support prenatal childbirth, improving rate can achieved by implementing infant young child feeding policies programs with Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative.
